In my quest to purchase Bambusa Lako I came across several growers in South Florida. However I've been informed that they are not willing to ship plants to California due to the amount of paperwork that must accompany the shipment & I was also informed that the plants are place in quarantine when they arrive.
The grower informed me that several plants had been returned to him & he was no longer will to ship bamboo to California.
I was wondering if anybody else had experienced this?

I've had that same problem before, and not just with bamboo either. How annoying, isn`t it?
I can recommend Tropical Bamboo (http://www.tropicalbamboo.com/) in Florida. I ordered a Bambusa chungii 'Barbellata' from them in the spring, and it arrived within a week. No quarantine.
