What is the ideal temperature for germinating moso seeds?
I keep a humidity dome over my seeds, and set the soil temperature to 82F. I'm wondering if its the ideal temperature for germination. I'm guessing anything from 70-90 would work.

I had better luck germinating MOSO seeds without a heating pad than I did with one.
Southern Indiana.

RE: What is the ideal temperature for germinating moso seeds
i used a humidity dome at 80 degrees and had 2 containers without the dome at 80 degrees ... without the dome, one container did well and the other did not yet sprout
i read where 90 degrees is about right, but my office stays about 80 with 2 computers running and i'm old and like the warm
i noticed without the dome it's harder to maintain moist growing medium, they can dry out quickly and i also noticed that with my dome most containers had fungi growing on top of growing medium
seedlings are about 2 weeks to 18 days old and look good, some have a few leave tips brown but they don't look too bad - i think i had them too wet - i watered from the bottom but let water stand in the bottom tray most of the time, may use less next time
i transplanted to larger containers with soil - some 2 days ago and some one day ago and all look robust with no wilts, i thought it would be harder
i'm about ready to try another batch --- keep us posted on your findings
