Hi. I am American, living in Thailand more than 4 years. Khon Kaen area. Have collected some Tropical Bamboo that I am planting on my miserable quality piece of land that I lease. Any other farang collectors here? Would like to touch base with others who even CARE about the correct ID of the plants . Even actually use ID Tags. Yes, you know what I am talking about. I Have NEVER seen plants tagged here. Only set out in batches with a sign; and they will tell you anything you want to hear. By the way, cannot find any aluminum tags to buy. Or good long handled shovel. Or man size 6 cu ft wheelbarrow. Now in fairness I am sure there are a few hip THAIs out there. Would like to meet. Yeah, I have a Thai wife. Driving me crazy. This year a new law prohibiting any farang man over 50 from marrying a Thai national. Saved by the government. Now cannot marry ones "daughter" or "mother". Shattered illusury dreams.

Welcome to the forum! I don't think there are many posters here who live in Thailand...

The first step in getting IDs on your plants (if needed) is to post photos in the "Bamboo Identification" area of the forum.


Yours will probably be the most interesting post of the day.

I don't live in Thailand anymore but I did live in Khon Kaen for a few months beautiful area especially out by the college. I sure do miss the place. Anyhow welcome to the forum.
