From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mautam - It appears Melocanna baccifera is mass flowering in India, causing a population explosion in rats, which then eat crops!

I wonder how easy would it be to get some seeds? If the rats haven't eaten them all that is.

P.S. YG has decided to shoot for me and its about time!

The biggest problem with the rats is when the bamboo stops flowering. Then the rat population, which exploded with the flowering and subsequent abundant food source of bamboo seeds, has a massive reduction in food to eat. Then they will start eating anything and everything to stay alive.
