Pressure Treated Pine container for bamboo - chemicals bad ?

Post by MB »

I'm considering building a large 4-ft high by 4-ft wide by 3-ft deep container and planting some bamboo in it... maybe 4x8x3.

My question is will the chemicals from Pressure Treated Pine harm the bamboo?

Has anyone used pressure treated pine continers for planting?

If so what results?

Thanks for any help.

The pressure treated wood will not harm the bamboo, but I would avoid eating shoots from the container. The chemicals used to prevent rot and insect damage are toxic to humans tend to leach into the soil. I think BooKing built a pressure treated bamboo container several years ago. You might ask him about it.
