Harvesting bamboo question
Here's a question for anyone who's had experience with clear cutting groves of phyllostachys bamboos. If you were today to completely clear of all culms, a mature grove of golden at least 15+ years of age or more, a few thousand square feet, leaving the rhizomes intact and mulched. What would you expect the culm size and density to be in the following spring?

I would expect a thicket of foliage heavy canes that on average were 25%-33% of the culled size - a few larger ones as well - with many small canes with juvenile leaves. I might be wrong, but that is what I'd expect.
