Indoor potted Alphonse Karr fertlizer question

So, last fall I purchased a small A. Karr as my first ever bamboo, its first few days were quite rough but over the course of the winter it recovered quite nicely and sprouted one new culm. Now that spring is coming around I'm beginning to see one of the dormant shoots begin to sprout as well but I'm wondering about fertlizing it. I've read that high nitrogen is important and therefore I purchased a small box of 30-10-10 water soluble miracle grow. Would this be appropriate for my boo? Some further information in case its needed is that my plant is around one and a half feet tall with most of the culms smaller than a pencil. If this is indeed a good choice if fertilizer, is once a week use enough? Too much? Any comments and helpful suggestions are welcome!
Thanks!

1 teaspoon mixed into 1 gallon of water every 14 days, watch for burning while in use and finally make sure you flush out the soil at least once a year to remove the excess salts left over from the fertilizer. The tropical growers can give you more detailed information.

Take the pot outside and run lots and lots of water through the soil/potting mix. I do this once a year with all of my big houseplants.
Spray down the leaves really well while you're at it to clean off the accumulated dust and dirt. It always amazes me how dirty my indoor plant leaves get.

Thanks for the response! I just wasn't sure if I should use the same directions as on the box but now I know.

just for some further information, what would be some of the early signs of my plant getting burned by the fertilizer?
Thanks again, Spenser
