Bambusa Odashimae growing insane !

I realize its a little late in the game for this, but I do have to do something before my landlord makes me rip the whole thing out...Roots are beginning to expose themselves to the surface a few feet out more than we'd like, and raising the ground where the lawn is supposed to be.
If i dig a trench, how deep do I need to go? Will blocks of cement work as a barrier? Any thoughts are appreciated!

Greetings, I seem to recall Roy Rogers posting 'how to's' on this site a few years back - how to stop the spread of tropical clumping bamboo using pavers I think. I suspect that you can search using the search box upper right, and find it somewhere.

Hi, ya I actually read those. (
http://www.bambooweb.info/search.php?s= ... ton=Search)
Not much help, it also mentions a guess where the roots may '
force themselves into the pavers'.
Thanks though.
Still searching/hoping for some tips.

It is a clumper trenches probably will not work. Roy's trick with concreate pavers I think was with a smaller culm Boo. If you try it use heavy pavers. Takeing divisions might help and make some good gifts for some freinds. Odashimae I beleive is like Old Hammi and you can expect a mature clump to have a ten to twelve foot base possibly up to fifteen.

I'm guessing that you could simply thin away some culms and chop away the ones that are growing in the wrong direction. Here's a video I found which might be perfect for your situation. All you need is a pruning saw and a little hatchet. If it's smaller than 2 inches, I guess loppers would work too.
