Can I divide now?

I have some Robert Young in some large pots that I need to move. Can I divide it and plant it now? I'm in zone 7/8. I know it is root bound and I've neglected to replant it. I could wait if I need to.

In general, early spring before shooting is a great time to divide bamboo. If you are pretty sure freeze thaw cycle is finished for your area, go for it.
