The definition of Irony...

Today I had signed up for a bike race where all proceeds go towards buying under-privileged youth bikes and helmets. When I registered a couple weeks ago I also included additional funds for more helmets for the kiddos.

Today I woke up at 4:30 am, got in the car and drove 75 miles to the start location. Guess what? Yep, I forgot my helmet at home :laughing1:

So what did I do? Picked up my free t-shirt and got back in my car and drove the 75 miles home :(

Actually I wasn't too disappointed... when I left my house at 5am it was 68*. The race was pretty much due north, and when I got there it was 48* with about a 40 mph wind. I was waaayyy under dressed to ride in that weather.

As a quasi-bamboo related twist I came back home and it was 64*... I guess the Gulf of Mexico really does help shield my house from the cold. Good for my bamboo :)

I've road my bicycle a few times in January, so I'm happy. Anything over 20 degrees feels comfortable to me. I don't have the right gear to go under that temp. So what is your feeling about topics magically coming back from the archives? Its like a ghost town becoming the next las vegas.

Lance are you snowed in, or perhaps the doors are frozen shut?

I like having old topics come back, recycling is good.
