Eastlandia, I must admit I was expecting this, it seems to happen every spring. I guess the only thing I can do is throw some leaves on the less well established of the bamboos and hope for the best. I have three plants I moved outside in pots ('Paperweight', okuboi and a small confused oak) which I will drag back inside for a few days.
Perhaps we ought to start a thread on how the cold is affecting the shoots that have emerged. Which take the cold, which do not. I know that the cold snap we usually get doesn't seem to bother the Sasa veitchii, Hibanobambusa tranquillans 'Shiroshima' or the Pleioblastus viridistriatus 'Chrysophyllus'.

Both the Phyllostachys aureosulcata and P. aureosulcata 'Spectabilis' have put up shoots, but they are holding back from growing very tall.
I'm surprised your 'Shiroshima' hasn't put up shoots yet, it seems to be an early shooter here.
