In The Central Europe we have very wet and enough warm winter. A lot of kinds of bamboo has no damage and no leaf loss. Only Borinda frigidorum want confirm that is deciduous bamboo.

Wufeng out of the two clones here one (Kr4059)is totally deciduous, I've even seen potted plants of this kept in polytunnel and frost free still lose all their leaves. Amazing leaf growth come Spring though, the other plant is Chris Stapletons version (1048), a more upright version with less foliage but it dose hold on to it better.
Bamboo...Please note... This plant is seriously addictive and you may lose interest in other, less rewarding plants!

My is KR4059. It is first winter I have this one outside. I am very curious about stem hardiness. I hope it will be strong enough for my locality. Markj thank you for sharing your experiences.

This should be way hardy :wink: , it was collected at Cang Shan,Dali, Yunnan at 4200m. This is the highest collection of Keith Rushford and above the tree line, the deciduous nature is probably a good adaptation to an extreme climate-well here's hoping :roll:
