It is very rare that a bamboo dies on me but I have killed otatea acuminata aztecorum during transplanting at least 3 times and even Chuck lost one I gave him too.

If you have a very established root system on it when you get it then you pro belly don't have anything to worry about, but I would not disturb the roots at all on this one and don't over water.

If you get any planting info on this one let us know because I am loss how it' done.

For the sake of the gods, think hard where you plant the Roys Clone X and give it allot of growing room!!!!!! Treat it like your planting a large oak tree that will be mature size in 4 years.

On the otatea acuminata aztecorum, I would re-pot, being sure the potting mix you use is very drain-able. Otatea acuminata aztecorum can't stand wet feet. I would probably re-pot the D. hamiltonii and put both in the shade and water for a few weeks.

The Bambusa sp. 'Clone X', if it had plenty of roots on it, then you might just be able to plant it and make sure to water it on a regular daily basis for a week or so. It's a tough plant and it's hard to kill. And as Mike Best says, plant it where it has plenty of room.
