Thanks for all the welcomes! I'm glad to found this place. Sugarland is right down the street!
Right now I got what was sold to me as Bambusa Oldhamii. The more I browse the more I guess this boo is very common. This lady told me she have it for about 3 years, but it's only approx. 1" the biggest and about 12 feet tallest when I came pick it up. I think she move it around several time when she have it. So maybe shocking it. How big should I be expecting in this region? I planted them about 1 month ago so it looks pretty bad from the transport. I have lots to learn. I will try to get some pic up soon.

And a big "howdy" from Harlingen, TX
Re: New to the forum from Katy, TX
Should get to 4" diameter and top out around 45' tall... that is if you actually have oldhamii. There was a bunch of Bambusa odashimae and Bambusa cornigera that was sold in this area as oldhamii. The best way to tell what you have is when it puts up a new shoot check to make sure the culm sheaths are hairy. Hairy = oldhamii, plain yellow (no hairs) = odashimae, purple stipes = cornigera.tnguyen wrote:How big should I be expecting in this region?
Enjoy!

This is what I have. Oldhamii? Some close up pic. Not a very big yard.

Thanks moriphen and bambootony. I'll keep taking pic to see how this will grow out over time. Right now the heat is awful so lots of watering.
