Heteroclada starts dying?

Post by stevelau1911 »

I brought in a P heteroclada about 1 month ago and it was doing fine until about a week ago when the leaves started to dry. Has this happened with anyone else trying to grow bamboos indoors?

Steve. it's not the species, when I bring ANY bamboo indoors I expect to see significant leaf drop. However, when I see that particular 'look' as in your photo I suspect that the soil is kept too wet as those leaves do not look like light reduction/dry air burn. Particularly on small plant or newer culms the leaves will get that way if the pot is too wet. I may well be wrong but that is my suspicion anyway.

Remember that overwatering is the number one killer of houseplants. Underwatering is a close second. (or something like that)
