Hi Mark , I forgot to say that the rare bambusoides you gave me is still alive and growing in the garden in france . Still very small but healthy looking . I cannot remember the name at the moment it may have a green sulcus perhaps not.
I'm going to try a few bambusoides here in the hope that I can get them going well, just for fun project as it were.
I'll order the Indocalamus tessellatus soon as I loved that one at your place. If you can remember the name of the bambusoides let me know.
Great to see you and the family in the UK the other week. Hope it heats up for you soon and you get the results you want for the season.
All the Best
Steve

Nice one Steve
, always good to catch up.
Can't remember the name off hand but it can't be that hard to work out
was it variegated by any chance.

Bamboo...Please note... This plant is seriously addictive and you may lose interest in other, less rewarding plants!

Re: Question for Markj
I'm pretty sure it was variegated, still not much bigger than when I planted it . I'll pour on the TLC when I get back to that garden. With all the running around I did in the UK I should have spent a couple more days with you it would have been more fun.
Love your place and your family , reminds me of my own chaos here

Re: Question for Markj
Hi Steve- It would be the rather nice and as you say rather slow
Phyllostachys bambusoides 'Castillonis Inversa Variegata' bit of a long winded name as well. Thats what it's called over here I think, the version your side has a different name, anyone know the name for the 'VERY' heavily variegated form- would be very slow as well even with your improved growing conditions
Needs some serious TLC and feed to get going
