Visit to Mike Bells bamboo garden cornwall

Post by Damian »

Finally took the opportunity to visit Mike Bells garden / field in Wadebridge cornwall today.
Had a fantastic time even through torential rain, For those who dont know, Mike is the presdent of the EBS and holds the
joint national collection of phyllostachys, but has a special interest in clumping mountain bamboos,
He boasts Over 300 species and forms, which with a guided tour was amazing to view even whilst soaking wet.
Rounded the morning off with with aquiring 6 new plants to add to my collection,
Borinda yunnan 3b
Borinda adpressa
Borinda nijuangensis
Phyllostachys aureosulcata harbin inversa
Phyllostachys aureosulcata argus
and an interesting clone of cusquea culeou.
All in all a great day and a great guy. :D

Nice one! ..... I'm seriously jealous .... :D

I've an open invitation from Mike - so hopefully I'll get down before the end of the year.

Too bad about the rain. Photos would have been nice for those of us who will never get to see his garden.
