Re: Barrier seams
Yeah, snipping the ones that go over the barrier would be easy.
But, in at least one of the conversations, folks were talking about barrier failures--either through punctures or from the rhizomes going underneath. It was in that context that a couple of people commented that barriers should be called deflectors and that pruning is vital even with a barrier. Since, I don't think you'd want to deflect the rhizomes underneath the barrier, I assumed that the pruning must someone prevent the rhizomes from going down. That's why I wondered how pruning would do that. The ones that escape over the top of the barrier weren't the ones that folks were worried about.
Cheers,
jp

Re: Barrier seams
jhndrx said it well. Do you see a open trench next to any of the boo installations I have posted? Look at "commercial installations" post. You probably won't have a break through if the barrier thick enough. 80 mill or thicker is best.
It will probably be OK. If some barrier fails in several years you can deal with it. I never did get any boo planted w my computer.
