Someone dropped off a bunch of pots for me. On one of them I noticed this label from Lowes..
Phyllostachys Ventricosa?
What's wrong with this label?

Just out of curiousity, what hardiness zone does the label say it is?
Southern Indiana.

The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.

Wierd. I hate mis named plants. Its probably a Bambusa. Look up the name on the tag, all you see is Bambusa in search results

Tag says zone 8. I figured out what friend the pots came from and called him. He said he bought it last summer, planted it, and it got fried when temps got down to about 18 degrees. Too bad it wasn't a Phyllostachys Ventricosa, it would probably have been just fine. I was in Home Depot a couple of years ago and bought a beautiful P. A. Spectabilis marked as "Golden". I have several plants here that came from friends that were misnamed. I'm also guilty of sending out a couple of plants that I mislabeled. Fortunately I was able to track them down and correct it.
