My Fargesia murielae is putting up a shoot. It usually shoots in August or September. I dug it up a couple weeks ago and potted it up because I'm moving. I wonder if the disturbance caused shooting? Any ideas?

Are you certain it's murielae?
August and early September is when F. nitida shoots. F. murielae shoots early June at my friend's in PEI.
I'll see him next week and will check out shoots.

TC - I have yet to move any bamboo, but I can say that everytime ive planted one that was potted (theoretically dug up), its put out shoots - and a hell of a lot of them. A F Scabrida I had put out shoots from June-November after planting it
