Got about 10" of heavy snow here. Bamboo? What bamboo?

Alan,

Do the culms ever stand straight again after being bent like that for several days?

I don't know -- I've never had this situation on this large a scale before. I think so, but others have more experience with this.

I'll probably try to shake some of the snow off later.

They do get straight again. I had to tie leaned culms to make them stand straight and after a week, they were OK. I'm not sure if they could do the same thing by themselves. After they lean the first time, you can be 99% sure that they will lean in the same direction the next time snow or heavy rain falls. :P

After 20+ inches of heavy wet snow back in december that took around 6 weeks to melt, pretty much everything sprang back up. Not as straight as before the snow, alot of my culms have a slight arch now, but not too bad.
