Herbaceous Tropical Bamboos
Hi. I am interested to know about sourcing and growing small, herbaceous, tropical species such as Lithachne, Raddia, Cryptochloa and Eremitis. Has anybody here ever grown these or related plants?

Re: Herbaceous Tropical Bamboos
I would love to hear any suggestions that anybody might have.
They usually don't want to share material, and they don't import live plants like they used to, but I might start inquiring with university greenhouse and botanical garden collections. Maybe I will get lucky.

My guess would be that you want to grow these in a indoor or greenhouse setting, judging from your location. Can not help you as I know nothing about the tropicals. Some of them are very cool looking, please keep us posted on your progress. Hopefully someone who knows more about these will chime in.

Yep, these plants would be for growing as potted houseplants or in terrariums.dependable wrote:My guess would be that you want to grow these in a indoor or greenhouse setting, judging from your location. I have sent a few emails. I'll let you know if I get any results.
